Job summary

Youth Consultation Service in Freehold, NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional (Residential Assistant) for Whispering Mills, a residential facility for young women.

This part-time or on-call role requires supervising activities, supporting routines, and collaborating with youth’s case manager, clinician, and prescriber, with a bachelor’s degree in a related social service field and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related social service field; MSW enrollment preferred.
• At least 1 year or more experience with youth in a behavioral group setting.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, organize, and support recreational and/or socialization activities.
• Lead milieu staff through youth's structured routine while collaborating with youth’s case manager, clinician, and prescriber.
• Engage and interact with youth based on behavioral intervention plans.
• Observe, document, and acknowledge positive behaviors.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor level degree in a related social service field (Psychology, Sociology, Education, Public Health etc.), Psychology preferred.

Description

Whispering Mills is a residential facility for young women.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Supervise, organize, and support recreational and/or socialization activities
• Play an active role in leading the milieu staff through youth’s structured routine while collaborating with youth’s case manager, clinician, and prescriber
• Engage and interact with youth based on behavioral intervention plans
• Observing, documenting, and acknowledging positive behaviors
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor level degree in a related social service field (Psychology, Sociology, Education, Public Health etc.), Psychology preferred. Preference to those interested in enrolling in an MSW program, to achieve growth within the agency.

1 year or more experience with a high school diploma working with youth in a behavioral group setting.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Schedule: Weekdays or Weekends Part time or On-Call

Whispering Mills is a program of Youth Consultation Service (YCS), which is a behavioral health and social services agency that has been caring for at risk children and families since 1918 in therapeutic residences, special education schools, in-home and in-community programs throughout NJ.
