Job summary

Achieva is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist people with disabilities in Greensburg, PA. You will support daily living, help with community activities, and promote personal development in a compassionate, patient manner.

No prior experience is required as Achieva provides comprehensive training; a valid PA driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are needed. This is an hourly role with flexible full-time or part-time schedules.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education is required; training is provided.
• Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
• Background checks required: Act 33 and Act 34.

Responsibilities

• Supports daily living activities, community engagement and personal development.
• Transports and accompanies individuals to activities, appointments and events.
• Assists with personal care tasks, laundry, and food preparation.
• Promotes independence in money management and daily routines.
• Administers medications and documents required information.
• Advocates for individual choice and dignity in all interactions.

Position Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You'll support daily living activities, community engagement, and personal development, while advocating for individual choice and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

• Understands, supports, and advocates with people we support by helping them live a life of personal significance.
• Identifies, documents, and shares concerns and successes as appropriate.
• Transports and accompanies people to activities, appointments, and events.
• Helps with personal care tasks as needed, including laundry and food preparation.
• Assists with money management by promoting independence.
• Administers medications and documents required information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• No previous experience or formal education required – we provide all the training you'll need!
• Caring attitude and a strong willingness to help others.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
• Required clearances: Satisfactory Act 33 (Child Abuse) and Act 34 (Criminal Record) background checks.
