Job summary

Friendship Community Care, Inc. in Arkansas is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work with individuals in home and community settings. You will assist with daily living tasks, document progress, and support plans of care.

Responsibilities include transportation, medication monitoring support, activity planning, safety and HIPAA compliance, and communicating with staff to ensure quality service. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or two+ years' experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
• Must also have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in basic living skills and daily personal tasks (e.g., showers, dressing, housekeeping, meals, budgeting).
• Provide transportation to activities and appointments as needed, requiring a valid Arkansas driver’s license.
• Maintain communication via logs and meetings, and document progress toward care plans.
• Follow medication management guidelines and monitor procedures with documentation.
• Assist in Formulation and follow-through of client care plans to ensure health, safety, and security.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; adhere to policies and record-keeping requirements.
• Participate in training and continuing education; support facility and vehicle maintenance as needed.
