Job summary

Empowered Services is hiring an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Lane County to provide structured in-home care for individuals with IDD. No prior DSP experience required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities include supporting daily routines, assisting with community activities, and promoting independence with emotional regulation and clear boundaries. Competitive hourly pay and benefits for full-time staff are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements).
• Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying).
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living routines (meals, hygiene, organization)
• Assist with community access (shopping, errands)
• Provide emotional regulation support using calm, structured approaches
• Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations
• Assist with household upkeep and organization
• Encourage independence and personal responsibility
• Communicate updates with care teams and complete required documentation
• Help maintain a safe, predictable, and respectful environment
