Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live independently. You will support daily activities, provide personal care, and build meaningful relationships in a compassionate setting.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, assisting with routines, advocating for rights, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires a valid license, ability to lift, and completion of a Medication Technician

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

• Cook nutritious meals and support daily routines to promote dignity and independence.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, personal care, and maintain respectful interactions.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build confidence and self-esteem.

PAY RANGE: $20 - $23.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience and certifications)

As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll build trusted relationships and provide personalized support that honors each person’s strengths, choices, and goals. Whether it’s celebrating small wins, encouraging independence, or simply being present, you’ll be part of the moments that truly matter.

At Gallagher Services - a Catholic Charities program, we believe that every person deserves a life filled with meaning, independence, and relationships that matter. We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule:

Friday 11 PM- 9 AM ; Saturday and Sunday 8 AM - 8 PM.

A Day in the Life:

You’ll spend your days assisting with care to a group of people who enjoy:

• Doing puzzles

• Going to the Park and walking trails

• Doing Arts and Crafts
• Going to the movies
• Going Shopping

How You’ll Support:

• Help by cooking nutritional meals
