Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join a compassionate team in a weekend shift role. The DSP will assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily routines, personal care, and activities they enjoy while promoting independence and dignity.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Ability to assist with daily living activities and personal care.
• Medication Technician Training Program completion (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily routines to promote dignity, independence and choice.
• Prepare meals of their choice and support healthy eating.
• Be patient and respectful in actions and speech.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and build confidence and self-esteem.

PAY RANGE: $19 to $20.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience)

As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll build trusted relationships and provide personalized support that honors each person’s strengths, choices, and goals. We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule

Saturday and Sunday 10 AM - 4 PM

A Day in the Life

You’ll spend your days assisting with care to a group of people who enjoy:

• Doing math problems
• Singing
• Completing puzzles
• Shopping
• Relaxing at home

How You’ll Support

• Support with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
• Support people in preparing meals of their choice, encouraging healthy eating habits, and maintaining a clean and comfortable kitchen environment—while promoting independence and personal preferences.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
