Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore seeks a Direct Support Professional to help adults with developmental disabilities live independent, meaningful lives. You will build trusted relationships and provide personalized support that respects each person’s choices and goals.

Mondays to Fridays 8 AM to 4 PM; responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, meals, and personal care, while documenting care to ensure continuity and upholding dignity, independence, and trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care to promote dignity, independence, and choice.
• Assist with meal preparation and maintaining a clean, comfortable kitchen environment while encouraging independence.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speech.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build confidence and self-esteem.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

Pay Range: $20 - $20.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience)

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday 8 AM to 4 PM
