The Arc of Opportunity is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with developmental disabilities in North Central Massachusetts. The role includes implementing ISPs, assisting with daily living tasks, and accompanying individuals to appointments, all while upholding the agency9s mission and values.

Compensation starts at $20.81 per hour (or $21.85 with MAP Certification) with a $5,000 hiring bonus and a $1,500 referral bonus for current staff.

Qualifications

• Active and valid driverfs license required.
• Background checks must be passed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sit/stand for extended periods.
• Restraint may be required; training provided.
• Substance abuse or mental health experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Advocate for individuals served upholding the agency9s values and mission.
• Empower individuals by leveraging community knowledge to improve quality of life.
• Implement Individual Service Plans.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living and household tasks.
• Assist with appointments, including driving the agency van.
• Maintain professional, respectful communication at all times.
• Attend trainings and apply knowledge on the job.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Salary & Benefits

$5,000 Hiring Bonus ($500 paid after completion of training, $1,000 paid at 3 months, $1,000 at 6 months and $2,500 paid at 1 year)

Sudday-Wednesday-3PM-11PM & Saturday-7AM-3PM

Essential Job Functions

• Actively Advocate for individuals served demonstrating the Agency's values and mission in all interactions
• Leveraging your knowledge and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life
• Implement Individual Service Plans
• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily living, including household tasks and chores
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van
• Present in a respectful and professional manner in all interaction
• Attend all trainings and implement knowledge throughout your work
• Communicate in an effective manner whether orally or written

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED
• Active and valid driver's license
• Ability to pass background checks
• Ability to lift to 50lbs and sustained periods of sitting or standing
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred
