Job summary

Empowered Services in Newberg, OR is seeking an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to provide engaging, one-on-one support for an active and creative young individual. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, organized, and enjoys building meaningful relationships while supporting independence, communication, and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD services preferred (not required).
• Passion for helping others and building meaningful connections.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs (ADLs).

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one caregiving and behavioral support in home and community settings
• Assist with ADLs including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility
• Create and follow structured daily routines and visual schedules
• Support community engagement and recreational activities
• Encourage communication, independence, and skill-building
• Provide supervision (visual/sound awareness) to ensure safety
• Collaborate with team members and document progress as needed
