Job summary

Alexander Milne Developmental Services is seeking dedicated, compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence with dignity and inclusion.

You'll provide person-centered care, assist with daily living, document care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a supportive work environment that offers training, growth opportunities, and a commitment to quality care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Successfully pass a background screening.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: direct support, caregiving, or human services experience.
• Preferred: fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Support meal preparation and maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment.
• Implement individualized care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
• Observe, monitor, and report changes in health, behavior, or overall well-being.
• Encourage participation in recreational, social, and community activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality care.
• Maintain a respectful, safe, and supportive environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
