Responsibilities

• Communicate with individuals using ASL when needed.
• Encourage participation in social and community activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

We are especially looking for candidates with experience communicating in American Sign Language (ASL) to support individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing
• Support meal preparation and maintain a clean and organized living space
• Implement individualized care plans and maintain accurate documentation
• Monitor and report changes in health status or behavior
• Communicate effectively with individuals using American Sign Language (ASL) when needed
• Encourage and facilitate participation in social and community activities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment at all times
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical job duties
• Successful completion of a background screening
• Basic computer proficiency
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with or willingness to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) is highly desired

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in direct support or caregiving
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience supporting individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
