Job summary

Alexander Milne Developmental Services is seeking dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion.

The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, meal prep, and accurate documentation. Requirements include being 21+, HS diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 75 pounds, and passing a background check; ASL and CPR/First Aid are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical job duties.
• Successful background screening required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Support meal preparation and maintain a clean, safe living environment.
• Implement care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
• Observe and report changes in health, behavior, or well-being.
• Encourage participation in recreational, social, and community activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility

• Support meal preparation and maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment

• Implement individualized care plans and maintain accurate documentation

• Observe, monitor, and report changes in health, behavior, or overall well-being

• Encourage participation in recreational, social, and community activities

• Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality care

• Maintain a respectful, safe, and supportive environment

• Perform other duties as assigned
