Job summary

Mildreds Helping Hands LLC in Indiana is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with disabilities in residential and community settings. You will promote independence, safety, and quality of life, providing person-centered care with patience and compassion.

The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and committed to respectful care, with duties ranging from daily living assistance to companionship and documentation. Training and development are available.

Qualifications

• ASL proficiency preferred.
• Experience as caregiver or DSP preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass required background checks and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
• Provide support with personal care and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and snacks.
• Assist with light housekeeping.
• Provide medication reminders as required.
• Assist with errands, appointments, and community activities.
• Encourage independence and community involvement.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Follow individual service plans and safety guidelines.
• Complete required documentation.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Caregiver, DSP, Home Health Aide, or similar role preferred
• American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency is highly preferred
• Experience working with individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing is a plus
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to complete required background checks and training
