Job summary

Whole Life is hiring a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental and physical disabilities in North Stonington, CT. The role focuses on daily living tasks, promoting independence, and community integration with person-centered care.

You will work 32 hours weekly with a schedule that includes evenings. Training and certifications are provided, with opportunities for advancement within a supportive nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check and provide required documents.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs unassisted in some positions.
• Must document care in English and communicate clearly with clients and staff.
• Must pass a TB test within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and choice-making to promote independence
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Implement individualized care plans
