Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in Minnesota seeks a Direct Support Professional to build meaningful relationships, offer guidance, encouragement, and support through person-centered care.

You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, document care, and participate in training. The role is in a residential group home serving up to 4 people; pay starts at $16.00 per hour with potential raise to $16.50 after six months and a $1,500 hiring bonus.

Qualifications

• Genuine heart for helping others and supporting daily living activities.
• Willingness to learn with provided training and support.
• Ability to read and write in English and document care.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, meals, and transportation.
• Support community involvement and independent living skills.
• Advocate for rights and preferences of individuals served.
• Monitor health and wellbeing and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
