Job summary

In Good Company Care and Supports is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team in New Jersey. We offer both full-time and part-time roles providing home- and community-based support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You will assist with daily living activities, accompany individuals to appointments and outings, and follow care plans. Training is provided, and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Commitment to compassionate, person-centered care.
• Ability to pass background checks and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on support to individuals with IDs in homes and communities.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care and meal prep.
• Support individuals in community activities, appointments, and outings.
• Follow individualized care plans and behavior support plans as directed.
• Administer medication as trained and authorized (where applicable).
• Document services provided accurately and in accordance with NJ DDD requirements.
• Communicate with families, care team members, and staff regarding needs and progress.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, person-centered environment at all times.

Direct Support Professional (DSP)

In Good Company Care and Supports provides home- and community-based support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout New Jersey. We're looking for compassionate, reliable Direct Support Professionals to join our team - both full-time and part-time positions available.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct, hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their homes and communities
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Support individuals in community activities, appointments, and outings
• Follow individualized care plans and behavior support plans as directed
• Administer medication as trained and authorized (where applicable)
• Document services provided accurately and in accordance with NJ DDD requirements
• Communicate regularly with families, care team members, and agency staff regarding the individual's needs and progress
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment at all times

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred, but not required - we provide training
• Patient, compassionate, and dependable
• Strong communication skills and good judgment
• Comfortable with personal care tasks
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• Ability to pass required background checks and complete DDD-mandated training (CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, etc. - provided by the company)
• High school diploma or equivalent
