Job summary

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with IDD in an in-home setting in Prentiss, MS. Requirements include a High School Diploma, ability to obtain a MS CDL Class C within 60 days, and a valid MS driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must obtain MS CDL Class C Driver's License within 60 days of hire.
• Valid Mississippi Driver's License with satisfactory driving record (no moving violations within 3 years).
• Will Pass CPR, MANDT, And Other Required Testing
• Experience working with the IDD population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs and daily activities.
• Provide emotional support to participants.
• Supervise community outings and transportation as needed.
• Support treatment plans in partnership with clinical staff.
• Train participants in skills and daily activities and document progress in day programs.
• Ensure on-site presence during workday and eat lunch with participants.

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is seeking a creative and energetic Direct Support Professional to provide assistance for in-home setting serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Prentiss, MS. The Direct Support Professional plays a vital role in providing assistance with daily activities, providing emotional support, supervising community outings, and supporting treatment plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support.

• Experience assisting others with ADLs preferred
• Act as models for appropriate behavior.
• May provide transportation to and from facilities and to and from activities in the community.
• Performs other work-oriented tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Responsible for training participants in skills and conduct daily activities, training, and documentation for IDD day programs.
• Will eat lunch on site with participants and take breaks on site.
• Will remain on site for entire workday, except as authorized by supervisor.
• Demonstrates the importance of community involvement, social interactions, and maintaining relationships.
• Assists with job exploration, application, trains individuals on job specific duties, and enhances natural supports in work environment to facilitate individual's independence in the work place.
