Job summary

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is seeking a creative and energetic Direct Support Professional to provide in-home support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Waynesboro, MS. You will assist with daily living activities, offer emotional support, supervise community outings, and help implement treatment plans with clinical staff to improve quality of life for those we serve.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, the ability to obtain a Mississippi CDL Class

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to obtain MS CDL Class C Driver's License within 60 days of hire.
• Valid Mississippi Driver's License with satisfactory driving record (no moving violations within 3 years).
• Experience working with the IDD population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs and model appropriate behavior.
• May provide transportation to and from facilities and to and from activities in the community.
• Performs other work-oriented tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Responsible for training participants in skills and conduct daily activities, training, and documentation for IDD day programs.
• Will eat lunch on site with participants and take breaks on site.
• Will remain on site for entire workday, except as authorized by supervisor.
• Demonstrates the importance of community involvement, social interactions, and maintaining relationships.
• Assists with job exploration, training individuals on job specific duties, and enhances natural supports in work environment to facilitate individual's independence in the work place.

The Direct Support Professional plays a vital role in providing assistance with daily activities, providing emotional support, supervising community outings, and supporting treatment plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support.

• FT/PT Status: Regular Part Time
• Education: High School Diploma
