You will teach daily living skills, assist with personal care and budgeting, and help clients access inclusive activities. The role emphasizes advocacy, teamwork with families and agencies, and commitment to high-quality, compassionate supports.

Qualifications

• Illinois DHS qualifications to become a DSP.
• High School Diploma or GED (no online High School Diplomas will be accepted).
• Pass a physical, drug screen, and background check (State of Illinois and DCFS).
• Valid driver's license.
• Pass a reading comprehension test.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assist with everyday skills such as personal care, meal preparation, budgeting, and social skills.
• Discover and support opportunities for inclusion and participation in the community.
• Encourage people to advocate for their hopes and desires.
