Job summary

The Verland Foundation Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Squirrel Hill, PA. You will provide exceptional care to individuals with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges in a home-like setting.

This hourly, non-exempt role offers a part-time schedule (16 hours) with comprehensive benefits. Training includes 2 weeks paid training to learn daily living skills and support plans for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions.
• Background, physical, and drug screening required.
• Experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support residents while maintaining a safe environment.
• Encourage skill development through active treatment activities.
• Implement individualized programs; record observations and daily progress notes.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities.
• Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles.
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene.
• Housekeeping duties as needed.
• Medication administration.
• Other duties as assigned.
