Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in New Jersey is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support adults with developmental disabilities in daily living skills, safety, and community participation. You will work with a collaborative team across residential and vocational settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid, non-provisional driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Two-week paid new hire orientation, hybrid and in-person.
• Ability to respond calmly, make thoughtful decisions, and seek support when needed.
• Empathy, reliability, and a team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Direct Support Professionals may work in residential group homes or vocational day programs.
• Help ensure the safety, health, and well-being of individuals in our care.
• Coach and assist individuals in daily living skills such as food prep, cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
• Support planning, implementation, and documentation of programs addressing social, emotional, physical, and personal needs.
• Plan and participate in community-based employment, volunteer opportunities, and outings.
• Build positive relationships with families to support thriving of individuals under our care.
• Safely transporting individuals to appointments, programs, and activities.
