Job summary
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in New Jersey is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower adults with autism and developmental disabilities. You will support daily living, skills development and community participation in a collaborative, growth-focused team.
Starting at $20.42 per hour with education/experience-based increases, the role offers comprehensive time off, affordable healthcare and ASCEND student loan reimbursement as part of a supportive benefits package.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid, non-provisional driver's license required.
- Age 18+ required.
- Two-week paid orientation (hybrid and in person).
- Sound judgment and calm decision-making.
- Empathy, reliability and team orientation in supporting adults with autism and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Direct Support Professionals may work in residential group homes or vocational day programs.
- Help ensure safety, health and well-being of individuals in our care.
- Coach and assist individuals with daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning and shopping.
- Support planning, implementation and documentation of programs addressing individual needs.
- Plan and participate in community-based employment, day programs and outings.
- Build positive relationships with families to support thriving individuals.
- Safely transport individuals to appointments and activities.
