Job summary

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a young boy 15 yrs old in the Syracuse, NY area. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is energetic, open-minded, respectful and dedicated staff to engage in activities with him in the community.

The DSP will assist him in developing social skills, learning to complete his ADLs, Teach him safety skills. DSP Will Encourage and assist him with overall health, safety, and daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexible with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist a 15-year-old with ADLs and social skills.
• Provide 1:1 service to ensure safety.

Hours After school - Flexible days

Looking for roughly 4 hours per week Respite services at $22.50 per hour

We are seeking individuals who are reliable, patient, enthusiastic, able to work with behaviors, and able to work independently. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.Reliable transportation is required. A background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be completed prior to hire through the non‑profit agency.
