Job summary

Indera in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional (Per Diem) to support a young man with developmental disabilities. You will coach independent living skills, encourage communication, and provide engagement in social, recreational, and fitness activities in the community.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and reliability. A valid driver’s license and access to a smartphone are required; shifts are flexible across days, with pay at $25.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have access to technology to download multiple apps and follow policy.

Responsibilities

• Help Indera clients develop key independent living skills and communication abilities.
• Assist client with social, recreational, and physical fitness activities in the community.
• Log each day’s time, mileage, and service documentation accurately and timely.

Direct Support Professional - Syracuse

INDERA (Formally Expectational Family Resources/ARISE) is seeking a creative and compassionate Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to work with a gifted young man with a developmental disability. In this critical role, you will help him in learning key independent living skills, teach him skills to communicate and interact with others, and assist him in experiencing social, recreational, and physical fitness opportunities in the community. The ideal candidate for the DSP position will have effective communication and leadership skills, patience, and strong organizational skills.

Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.

Pay Rate

Pay rate: $25.00 per hour when providing direct support.
