Job summary

Pinnacle Service Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals for our Golden Valley location to assist individuals with developmental and behavioral needs in a residential setting. Roles include meal prep, activities, and daily care across three shifts available throughout the week.

Candidates should be 18+, capable of background checks, and possess a valid driver's license. CPR/AED certification is a plus and training can be provided. Benefits for full-time staff are listed in our postings.

Description

Pinnacle Services is seeking dedicated, caring individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals at our Golden Valley location! Our Direct Support Professionals have the ability to assist persons served with developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, and behavioral issues in a residential setting providing support and encouragement to work towards outcomes and goals to gain life skills. We have a variety of full time and part time shifts available throughout the metro area.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job duties and responsibilities of the position vary to meet the needs of persons served but may include:

• Meal planning/preparation
• Facilitation of community activities by using company vehicles
• Assisting with personal and medical cares (helping with dressing, bathing, etc.)
• Behavior management
• Medication administration.

Available Shifts

We have three shift types available all seven days of the week:

• Mornings- 6am-2pm
• Evenings- 2pm-10pm
• Overnights (Awake)- 10pm-6am

Salary Description

Direct Support Professional:

$22.00/hour

$16.00/hour for awake overnight shifts

Required Qualifications

• Have a passion for helping others and is willing to assist persons served with their varying needs
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must successfully clear a background check
• Current driver's license, current auto insurance, reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record determined by Pinnacle Services policy. Unacceptable driving record will result in reduction of placement options
• Diabetes and glucose monitoring
• Ability to refrain from power struggles at all times
• Excellent verbal communication skills to avoid misinterpretation and misunderstanding
• Excellent written communication skills to properly complete daily documentation, incident reports, ect.
• Ability to maintain clear and appropriate boundaries with individual served; be friendly, yet remain professional in the role
• Ability to strictly follow established protocols and positive support plan
• Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to adjust approach quickly in response to mood or behavior changes
• Ability to avoid bribes and rewards in response to challenging behavior

Education/Experience Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or at least 1 year experience working with people with dual diagnosis (Developmental Disability (DD) and Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI))
• If high school diploma or GED, must also have 6 months experience working with dual diagnosis (DD/SPMI)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous direct care experience
• CPR/AED certified (will train if missing qualification)
• Experience with Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Reactive-Attachment Disorder (RAD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
