Job summary

May Institute in Randolph, MA and Norwood, MA seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support children aged 3–21 with autism and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The role covers daily routines, safety, communication, and skill-building within a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving experience.
Patience, compassion, and ability to support children with diverse needs.
Experience with children or individuals with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

Support children with daily routines including hygiene, meals, dressing, and medication.
Create a positive, structured environment that encourages communication, play, and skill-building.
Use behavior support strategies to promote emotional regulation and reduce challenging behavior.
Partner with clinical, educational, and healthcare teams to support individualized treatment plans.
Provide transportation and community integration support for outings, appointments, and school transitions.
