Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in North Carolina is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with IDD in home and community settings. You will help with daily living tasks, personal care, and transportation as needed.

This part-time, on-site role includes weekend availability and 16 hours per week, with paid training in CPR/first-aid, medication administration, and safety protocols. You will document care in the electronic health system.

Qualifications

• Entry-level DSP role with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal, detail-oriented, and dependable traits are essential.

Responsibilities

• PART TIME - 16 hours per week, weekend availability

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; as well as employment support.
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Dailydocumentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
