Job summary

Ohana is hiring Direct Support Professionals for Glendale homes in Peoria, AZ. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, personal care, documentation, and transportation if licensed. Both part-time and full-time positions are available, with 30–40 hours per week and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old; 21+ to drive company vehicles
• Weekday and weekend availability; 30–40 hours per week
• Ability to pass a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance background check
• Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English
• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Google Calendar and Outlook
• Complete required trainings: Prevention & Support, CPR, First Aid, Article 9
• Medication administration assessment and skills as applicable

Responsibilities

• Bathing and showering residents as needed
• Assistance with dressing, grooming, hygiene, and toileting

• Document daily progress notes and shift information
• Plan and prepare meals and grocery shopping as assigned
• Transport residents to outings/appointments (if driver)
• Build supportive, therapeutic relationships with residents
• Handle household tasks and maintain a safe, clean environment
• Administer medications as trained and authorized
• Assist with admissions and discharges
• Redirect and manage behaviors using Prevention & Support techniques
• Support residents in achieving daily routines and goals
• Follow house schedules, routines and licensing standards
• Attend required team meetings and trainings

We are hiring both part-time and full-time Direct Support Professionals for our Glendale Homes. DSP’s play a vital role in supporting daily routines, providing personal care, managing behaviors, and building meaningful relationships with the members we serve.

Required Job Duties:

• Bathing and showering
• Assistance with dressing, grooming, hygiene, and toileting
• Physical touch/physical prompts as needed for safety and daily routines
• Support male and female members; all DSP’s must be able to provide personal care to any assigned member, regardless of gender.
• Document daily progress notes and required shift information
• Plan and prepare meals; complete grocery shopping as assigned
• Transport members to outings and appointments (if a driver) using the most efficient route including freeway driving
• Build supportive and therapeutic relationships with members
• Handle household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe, clean environment
• Administer medications as trained and authorized
• Assist with admissions and discharges
• Redirect and manage behaviors using Prevention & Support techniques
• Support members in achieving daily routines and goals
• Follow house schedules, routines, and DDD licensing standards

Additional Duties:

• Attend team meetings and required trainings
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications
• Perform physical tasks including lifting, pushing, pulling, and assisting members physically as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 18+ years old (21+ required to drive company vehicles)
• Weekday and Weekends 30-40 hours.
• Ability and willingness to provide personal care, including bathing and hygiene support, for both male and female members as part of job expectations
• Reliable transportation and communication
• Ability to pass a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance background check
• Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English
