Job summary

The Verland Foundation Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional at Villahaven House in Bethel Park, PA. This full-time, 40-hour position offers a $20.00/hr wage and a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

The DSP provides exceptional care to residents with complex needs and supports daily living activities in a home-like setting. Shifts are 3pm–11pm Sunday through Thursday. 2 weeks paid training, and a comprehensive benefits package are included, along with opportunities for career development and

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Reliable transportation to and from shift.
• Ability to lift and transfer residents.
• Must pass background, physical, and drug screenings.
• Experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care to residents with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges.
• Assist with meals, personal hygiene, and daily activities.
• Record observations and daily progress notes for each resident.
• Support planning social, home, and recreational activities.
• Transport residents to appointments in Verland vehicles.
• Perform housekeeping tasks as needed and assist with medication administration.

Verland is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals' to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.

House Name: Villahaven House

Location: Bethel Park, PA 15236

Shifts available:

Full Time- 40 hours

3pm - 11pm Sunday - Thursday

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for individualized care and ongoing support for people in our community with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Contributions:

• Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record all observations and daily progress notes.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
• Housekeeping duties as needed
• Medication Administration
• Other duties as assigned

2 weeks paid training provided by Verland, to educate new hires on daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene skills, along with each individual’s support plan/ personal development goals that are essential to improve the daily lives of the individuals that we serve. Completion of training is required at the start of employment.
