Job summary

The Verland Foundation Inc. in Hermitage, PA is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide exceptional care to residents with complex physical, medical, and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position based at Hasenflu House.

We offer 40 hours per week with full-time shifts and a starting wage of $19.25 per hour plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus. 2 weeks paid training provided, and a comprehensive benefits package upon eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to lift and transfer residents as needed.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support the lives of residents in a safe and healthy environment.
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities.
• Record daily observations and progress notes.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities.
• Assist with meals and housekeeping duties in the house.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles.
• Medication administration.
• Other duties as assigned.

Verland is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals' to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.

Shifts available

Full Time- 40 hours

Week 1: 7am - 3pm Sunday, Monday, Thursday thur Saturday

Week 2: 7am - 3pm Sunday, Tuesday thur Friday

Week 3: 7am - 3pm Monday thur Wednesday, Friday and Saturday

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for individualized care and ongoing support for people in our community with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Contributions

• Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record all observations and daily progress notes.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
• Housekeeping duties as needed
• Medication Administration
• Other duties as assigned

• Must pass a complete Background, Physical, and Drug screening
• Experience is not required!

2 weeks paid training provided by Verland, to educate new hires on daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene skills, along with each individual’s support plan/ personal development goals that are essential to improve the daily lives of the individuals that we serve. Completion of training is required at the start of employment.
