Job summary

First Resources Corp. is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Residential Services team in Ottumwa, IA.

You will help individuals gain independence through daily living skills, emotional support, and community involvement, including mobility assistance and transportation to activities. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals in residential services.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of auto insurance is required.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and fill in as needed; background check satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with daily living activities such as grocery shopping, errands, hygiene, and medication administration.
• Assist with mobility needs, including two-person transfers and use of a Hoyer lift.
• Help clients achieve personal goals like cooking, cleaning, and social integration.
• Transport clients to appointments and community events.
• Follow and document progress on Person Centered Service Plans (PCSPs).
• Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members.
