Job summary

Abound Health is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate care and daily living assistance to individuals with IDD in Shallotte, NC. As a DSP, you’ll help with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support while promoting independence.

We offer flexible schedules, weekly pay, paid onboarding and training, and opportunities for advancement. Starting pay ranges from $16 to $17 per hour, plus a $1,000 signing bonus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are required.
• Ability to pass background checks and registry checks.
• Paid training provided; prior IDD experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals to achieve personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities (meal prep, hygiene, household tasks).
• Support community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and communication.
• Encourage independence and skill development.
• Monitor health and safety and maintain a supportive environment.
• Communicate with team, families, and case managers as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
