Job summary

Abound Health in Shallotte, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to assist individuals with daily living activities, community participation, and behavioral support, helping clients build independence and confidence while following individualized care plans.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities is not required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicate with Abound Health team members, families, and case managers as needed
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules
• Complete ongoing training and professional development
