Job summary

OCTAVIA A ASKEW is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help people with disabilities enhance their quality of life. You will assist with transporting clients to work, support job-related tasks, and aid community integration and life skills development, while demonstrating patience, compassion, and reliability.

The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and reliable, with basic computer skills and the ability to document client progress clearly.

Qualifications

• Experience as a job coach, Direct Support Staff, Caregiver, Home Health, or similar role is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Vaccination as required by policy.
• Ability to use a computer for job applications and note-taking.
• Adherence to health and safety guidelines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Driver’s license valid.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Compassionate and ethical approach.
• TB test updated.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transporting clients to community events and activities.
• Transport clients to work sites and job assignments.
• Support clients with employment tasks such as resume development and mock interviews.
• Provide day-to-day supervision and supervision of activities.
• Use computer skills to help clients apply for jobs online.
• Keep clear, legible notes documenting client progress.
