Job summary

Abound Health in Southport, NC is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a DSP, you will assist with activities of daily living, community participation and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background, driving, and registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• No prior IDD care experience required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support enabling independence and confidence.
• Assist with daily living activities (meals, hygiene, house tasks).
• Support community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and communication.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
