Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered care to individuals with IDD in home and community settings. The DSP will assist with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and community participation.

The role requires hands-on experience, strong communication, ability to work independently, and adherence to BSPs and care plans. Flexible scheduling and meaningful, rewarding work are offered.

Qualifications

• DSP experience is required.
• Experience with IDD/Autism support.
• Experience with behavioral needs and BSPs preferred.
• Knowledge of person-centered care and rights.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and adaptable.
• Ability to assist with personal care and mobility.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with ADLs, personal care, mobility.
• Support individuals with IDD, Autism, and behavioral needs.
• Implement Individualized Support Plans and BSPs.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and community involvement.
• Provide companionship during activities and appointments.
• Assist with transportation as needed.
• Monitor and document progress and daily activities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, person-centered environment.
