Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. You will support daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure safety and dignity in person-centered care.

The role involves implementing BSPs, coordinating transportation as needed, and documenting progress while working with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and implementing BSPs preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable.
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility and companionship.
• Encourage independence, social engagement and community participation.
• Implement individualized care plans and BSPs.
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions and community activities.
• Provide reliable transportation as needed.
• Accurately document services, progress notes and goal tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
