Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. You will empower independence, ensure safety, dignity, and well-being in a person-centered environment.

Responsibilities include daily living support, documenting progress, accompanying to appointments, and promoting community participation, with emphasis on BSPs and behavioral supports where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as Direct Support Professional (DSP)
• Experience with behavioral needs and BSPs preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Compassionate, dependable, patient and adaptable

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility and companionship
• Encourage independence, social engagement and community participation
• Implement individualized care plans and BSPs
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities
• Maintain a safe, respectful and person-centered environment
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions and community activities
• Provide reliable transportation as needed
• Accurately document services, progress notes and goal tracking
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
