Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. The role focuses on promoting independence, safety, dignity, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities include daily living support, BSP implementation, and documenting progress. The position is in-person with flexible full-time/part-time scheduling and HIPAA-compliant practice.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and implementing BSPs preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation.
• Implement individualized care plans and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs).
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities.
• Provide reliable transportation as needed.
• Accurately document services, progress notes, and goal tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and agency policies.
