Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Lancaster area. The role involves home and community-based care, helping with daily living activities, and promoting safe, meaningful independence within the community.

The position offers competitive pay ($16.00–$20.00 per hour), flexible scheduling, paid training, and growth opportunities within a national healthcare organization.

Qualifications

• Valid driver\'s license required.
• Must have a reliable personal vehicle available for work-related transportation.
• Proof of current auto insurance required.
• Ability to pass required background screenings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous caregiving, DSP, home care, healthcare, or human services experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals in their homes and community settings.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
• Support individuals with community engagement, recreation, and social activities.
• Promote independence while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
• Transport clients to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed.
• Document services and report any concerns to supervisors according to company policies.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, families, and team members.
