Job summary

Intandem is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in our residential program in New York. You will help residents live as independently as possible, while promoting health, safety and well-being.

You will build positive relationships, advocate for residents, assist with light housekeeping, meals, and medications as needed, and participate in ongoing trainings to enhance skills.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State driver’s license is required.
• Be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be a positive role model for people with disabilities and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents to be as independent as possible.
• Promote health, safety and well-being of residents.
• Advocate for residents to communicate wants/needs and participate in community activities.
• Light household tasks and help plan nutritious meals.
• Administer medications as needed and participate in trainings.
