Job summary

Intandem Solutions in New York is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist residents in our Day Habilitation program, helping them live as independently as possible.

You will promote health and safety, build positive relationships, and support daily activities including light housekeeping, meal planning, and medication administration as needed. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required.

No formal degree required beyond high school; NYS driver's license preferred.

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT:Day Habilitation

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:Program Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you get to enhance quality of life for people with developmental disabilities by assisting, instructing, and supporting individuals living in our residences to be as independent as possible. Promote the health, safety and well-being of the individuals while building positive, meaningful relationships.Advocate for individuals in our residences to communicate their wants/needs, and integrate them into the community for recreation.Perform various tasks to promote a well-rounded environment by doing light housekeeping, helping individuals plan nutritious meals, and administering medications as needed.Participate in regularly scheduled trainings to enhance skills and knowledge to continue to support the individuals in the best way possible.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Ability to perform all job functions

PreferredEducation, Training & Experience:Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the Agency’s driving policy

Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

SALARY:

$17.50 per hour starting rate
