Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with IDD in their homes and communities. You will assist with daily living tasks, personal care, meal preparation, and transportation while documenting progress in our EHR system.

This part-time, on-site role offers paid training in CPR/first aid, mindset, medication administration, infectious disease, and seizure management, with opportunities for growth within a trusted nonprofit organization serving

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training is provided.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols are expected.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are essential.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn quickly.
• Reliable transportation, driver's license, and current auto insurance are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with daily tasks such as housekeeping, meal prep, cooking, and cleaning; personal care including bathing and dressing; as well as employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client's schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health record system.
