Job summary

Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a full-time, 40-hour/week schedule in West Columbia, SC. The DSP will support up to 8 adults in an Intermediate Care Facility, providing person-centered care, training, and assistance with daily living tasks.

The role includes following behavioral support plans, assisting with meals, personal hygiene, and mobility, and documenting progress using Therap on a provided Chromebook.

Qualifications

• Valid SC driver's license required.
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Adaptable, team player, and advocate for others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support up to 8 adults in an Intermediate Care Facility with person-centered care.
• Implement effective training programs to promote independence.
• Assist with daily living activities, including hygiene and meals.
• Follow behavioral support plans and maintain safety protocols.
• Document progress using Therap on a provided Chromebook.
• Participate in trainings for MedTech, Basic Life Support, and vehicle operation.
