Job summary

Whole Life is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Brooklyn, CT. DSPs provide person-centered care to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, supporting daily living, independence, and community integration.

You will assist with ADLs, monitor health, document activities, and collaborate with families and managers to implement individualized care plans. Training provided; union-backed benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license, social security card, birth certificate or passport.
• Background check, safe driving record, and Abuse Registry checks required; Fit for Duty and TB test within 30 days.
• Must be able to stand, move, twist, bend, kneel, lift up to 100lbs unassisted.
• Ability to document care in English and communicate with clients and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal prep.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment with proper techniques; document daily activities and incidents.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA; implement individualized care plans.
