Job summary

Whole Life is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Connecticut. DSPs provide person-centered care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting daily living, independence, and community integration.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, administering medications, monitoring health, coordinating with families and managers, and documenting observations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, transcripts, or GED required.
• Proof of valid identification and citizenship documents.
• Ability to pass background checks and health screens.
• Ability to stand, move, twist, bend, kneel, reach, lift, and walk; some positions may lift up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to document care in English and communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment correctly (e.g., Hoyer lifts).
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality.
• Implement individualized care plans.
