Job summary

Vanderheyden Hall Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals in identifying and acquiring skills to live as independently as possible. The role emphasizes safety, skill enhancement, and round-the-clock coverage with evening and overnight shifts offering a differential.

Positions include full-time, part-time and per diem. Candidates should meet the listed education, licensing, and medication certification requirements and be prepared to work within a trauma-informed care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR.
• Medication certification within provisional period.
• Ability to write legibly.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other disciplines and individuals served.
• Ability to perform physical interventions.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Care for individuals safely and therapeutically per policy.
• Document in compliance with agency, Medicaid, and OPWDD standards.
• Dispense medication per policy and transport individuals as needed.
• Support treatment plans and participate in the treatment team.
• Maintain appropriate boundaries and adhere to the DSP Code of Ethics.
• Attend trainings and ensure ongoing competency.
• Engage in supervision and staff development opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with logs, briefs, and notifications.
