Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a Newport, RI setting. You will support daily living activities, promote independence, and help clients achieve goals outlined in their ISPs.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18.
• Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Willingness to assist individuals with personal cares and ADLs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with activities of daily living, household tasks, meals, shopping, budgeting, and setting personal goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Promote independence, personal choice, and life skills development.
• Support ISPs and document progress accordingly.
• Observe and communicate changes, concerns, and progress to supervisors and team.
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities as needed.
• Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation.
