Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional in East Elmhurst, NY to provide hands-on care and advocacy for adults with developmental disabilities. You’ll support daily living, encourage community participation, and help individuals achieve independence in their homes and communities.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, fluent English, and a valid New York State driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Fluent English for client communication.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License with at least 2 years of driving experience (required for driving positions).
• Comfort operating a large vehicle (for driving positions).
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy for individuals you support.
• Assist with daily living activities and community connections.
• Plan and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Assist with communication tools or techniques to help individuals express themselves.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, therapists, and other team members; maintain accurate records.
