Job summary

Open Arms Care Corporation is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Nashville. The role emphasizes teamwork, active treatment, and promoting independence in a home-like setting.

The position includes two shift options, a $16.50–$18.00 hourly wage, and a $500 sign-on bonus for full-time staff. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and/or GED preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire is required.
• Certified in Professional Crisis Management (PCM) within 60 days of hire is required.
• Ability to lift repetitively a minimum of 50 pounds; tasks may include lifting, repositioning, turning, bending, squatting, etc.

Responsibilities

• Represent Open Arms Care Corporation in a positive and professional manner in community meetings, events and social functions.
• Organize and implement activities that promote an organized and positive environment with person-centered support.
• Make decisions regarding best practices, quality assurance, risk management and problem-solving; document serious injuries promptly.
• Coach, teach, and mentor individuals in home management and personal independence; promote rights and self-advocacy.
• Engage clients in active treatment and ISP implementation according to CMS requirements; promote client welfare.
